Allegheny Mennonite Conference installs new conference minister

Rev. Amy Yoder McGloughlin (center, shown surrounded by the Allegheny Mennonite Conference Leadership Team and Search Committee) was installed as conference minister of Allegheny Mennonite Conference on August 4, 2024.  Yoder McGloughlin formerly served as pastor at Frazer Mennonite Church. She regularly travels to Palestine with Community Peacemaker Teams, working with the community there, in solidarity and nonviolence. She is also active in Mennonite Action, a grassroots movement of Mennonites taking public action to stop war and end the occupation of Palestine. Yoder McGloughlin is a graduate of Lancaster Mennonite High School.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Eastern University, St. Davids, Pennsylvania, and a Master of Divinity degree from Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia.

Karla Stoltzfus Detweiler (left and center), MC USA’s climate justice coordinator, participated in the gathering. She shared sermons based on Joel 1 and 2 on August 3 and 4 and also led a Wild Church workshop. Photos by Carolyn Tice.
