ELKHART, Indiana (Mennonite Church USA) — Randy Miller’s quarter-time role on the Mennonite Church USA Executive Board staff ended on Dec. 31. Miller was hired as special assistant to the executive director in March 2014 to focus on fundraising for the Purposeful Plan 2017 Fund.

Miller’s work included helping to retire the debt for the new office facility on Benham Avenue in Elkhart and raising money for several special projects for Mennonite Mission Network, MennoMedia and Mennonite Education Agency. More recently, he helped to raise money for the renovations and furnishing of the space for the Mennonite Church USA archives, which are in the process of moving from the Newcomer Center at Goshen (Indiana) College to the Benham Avenue offices.
Miller began his role on a three-quarter-time basis but later reduced those hours to complement an interim pastorate, which he sees as his primary calling. He remained in his role on a quarter-time basis when he was offered a role as transition pastor for Metamora (Illinois) Mennonite Church in September 2015. He plans to complete his work there soon and prepare for future transition pastor assignments.
“I particularly appreciate several things about the way that Randy has served in his role,” executive director Ervin Stutzman said. “He has a very pastoral manner in his approach to individual donors and a collaborative approach with other fundraisers in our church, especially in churchwide agencies. He has also done careful statistical research for me, with an eye to the demographic trends in our church. I wish Randy the best as he seeks God’s will for the future.”
As previously announced, André Gingrich Stoner also ended his half-time role as director of Interchurch Relations on Dec. 31.
